Job summary

GovTech is recruiting a Software Engineer (II) to design, develop and maintain innovative digital solutions improving public service delivery in Singapore. You will work in agile teams to build scalable, secure applications and contribute across the full software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2–4 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, Go, C#, or JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software across platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their applicability to GovTech's initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of developed applications.
