Job summary

GovTech in Singapore seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, operate, and continuously improve software products and services. You will influence architecture, implement secure and scalable solutions, and contribute to automated testing and deployment practices.

You will work across multiple components, taking ownership from design through production, monitoring, and post-incident reviews, with a focus on responsible AI usage and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of system design, testing, version control, CI/CD, observability, security, and clean code.
• Good engineering judgment to explain trade-offs and defend technical positions.
• Ability to turn ambiguous needs into practical product and technical solutions.
• Ownership mindset from development to production, monitoring, and long-term maintenance.
• Strong collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including public-sector domains.
• Proficient in using AI responsibly and reviewing generated code for correctness and security.
• Delivery capability across multiple components with increasing independence and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver moderately complex features across components, ensuring modularity, scalability, and maintainability.
• Improve automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; contribute to CI/CD and deployment practices.
• Own production aspects including monitoring, incident triage, and post-incident reviews.
• Build secure and compliant systems by applying standards and design constraints.
• Leverage AI effectively with clear specifications and review of AI-generated solutions.
• Take end-to-end ownership, break down problems, and align team goals with actionable plans.
