Job summary

Google Pay Growth and Communications in Singapore is looking for a mid-level Software Engineer to design and deploy scalable features across mobile, web, and backend systems. You will collaborate with product managers and UX designers to deliver end-to-end experiences for a broad range of users.

You will work with a team focused on high-throughput, reliable services, and leverage DevAI tooling to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software programming in C++, Java, Python or Go.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy features across Google Pay’s mobile, web, and backend ecosystems, focusing on seamless RPC integration and UI excellence.
• Lead technical designs for robust backend services and data processing pipelines that support massive-scale growth experiments.
• Ensure long-term feature reliability by building comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and automated performance tracking.
• Contribute to engineering excellence by participating in design reviews, improving code quality, and contributing to technical discussions within the team.
• Leverage DevAI and agentic coding workflows to accelerate end-to-end development, setting a high standard for AI-assisted engineering productivity within the team.

In this role, you will design and deploy scalable features ranging from our core referral and reward engines to robust, high-throughput communication infrastructure that shape the financial journey for hundreds of millions of users, while leveraging agentic workflows and generative AI tools to accelerate delivery.

Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.
