Job summary

GovTech is the lead agency driving Singapore’s Smart Nation initiatives and public sector digital transformation. As a Software Engineer on Singpass, you will solve complex problems and build secure, reliable digital services used by millions.

You’ll contribute across the stack, from planning to production, with Go, TypeScript, Java, and Python, while learning cloud-native engineering and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with at least one modern programming language (Go, Java, TypeScript, Python).
• A portfolio of projects that demonstrates your ability to build and ship software.
• Evidence of a proactive mindset and initiative-taking in past projects.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from planning to production deployment.
• Develop and iterate on features for Singpass, emphasizing security and usability.
• Write robust, secure-by-design code in Go, Java, TS, or Python; cloud-native pushed toward Go for new services.
• Learn and manage cloud deployments (AWS/GCC) with a focus on reliability and operational safety.
• Collaborate with UX designers, cybersecurity experts, and engineers to align user needs with technical constraints.
