Job summary

GovTech Singapore is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Singpass and Data Platform teams, delivering secure, scalable national digital identity and data capabilities. You will shape the squad’s technical direction in collaboration with Product, Design and other stakeholders.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural excellence, and maintain a strong focus on delivery velocity, system reliability, and developer experience across critical GovTech platforms.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in event-driven architectures and scalable streaming systems.
• Strong technical leadership and mentorship with ownership, autonomy and delegation.
• Ability to drive alignment across engineering, product and stakeholders with clear communication.
• Focus on developer experience and delivery flow to improve system health and velocity.
• Experience guiding architecture reviews and trade-offs for long-term resilience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture reviews to ensure scalable, secure solutions.
• Set the squad's technical direction with Product and Design partners.
• Balance feature delivery with maintainability, scalability, and risk mitigation.
• Coach engineers through 1:1s and career growth planning.
• Foster a high-trust, inclusive team culture with feedback and accountability.
• Monitor delivery health and address root causes of issues to improve reliability.
