Activate Interactive Pte Ltd, a leading technology consultancy in Singapore, is hiring a Software Engineer for a fixed-term contract (1 Oct 2026 to 30 Sep 2027) to work on PDO Innovation Space projects for Singapore Government Agencies. Turn ambiguous ideas into production-ready web products, delivering end-to-end features across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, and cloud infra.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline.
• 7+ years hands-on software engineering experience with production code.
• Strong, recent Node.js experience and familiarity with the modern Node.js ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate web products end-to-end across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure and deployment.
• Translate product ideas and user needs into working software quickly, then iterate based on feedback and evidence.
• Make pragmatic architecture and technology decisions balancing speed, quality, maintainability and scalability.
• Work closely with product managers, designers and stakeholders from discovery through delivery and iteration.

What will you do?

Project: PDO Innovation Space | Rapid Product Delivery & Experimentation

ROLE MISSION Turn ambiguous ideas into working web products quickly, learn from users, and iterate toward production-ready solutions.

• Build and operate web products end-to-end across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure and deployment.
• Translate product ideas and user needs into working software quickly, then iterate based on feedback and evidence.
• Make pragmatic architecture and technology decisions that balance speed, quality, maintainability and scalability.
• Work closely with product managers, designers and stakeholders from discovery through delivery and iteration.
• Set up fit-for-purpose engineering foundations such as automated testing, CI/CD, observability and security without slowing experimentation.
• Own outcomes across the product lifecycle and contribute reusable patterns and practices to help the wider team move faster.

What are we looking for?

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with recent experience actively writing and shipping production code.
• Strong, recent Node.js experience and familiarity with the modern Node.js ecosystem.
• Proven experience building a web system end-to-end - including frontend, backend, databases, APIs, infrastructure and deployment.
• Strong understanding of modern web architecture, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and software engineering practices.
• Comfortable working independently in ambiguous problem spaces and making sound technical decisions.

• Startup, innovation-team or fast-moving product experience, with a strong bias for action and delivery.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, including AI coding agents, code generation or automated code review.
• Track record of taking a product from idea or prototype through to production.
• Experience working in cross-functional agile product teams with product managers and designers.

You take an ambiguous problem, work with the team to determine what matters, and quickly turn it into a working product that can be put in front of real users. You favour learning through delivery and iteration while maintaining the engineering discipline needed for products to grow beyond the initial experiment.
