Job summary

Activate Interactive Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based technology consultancy, seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, test and deploy applications that support digital government services and citizen-facing platforms.

You will collaborate with UX designers, troubleshoot live systems, and participate in code reviews to ensure quality, security and performance. A background in modern JS, React.js, and backend work is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with modern web apps using JavaScript.
• Frontend development with React.js.
• Backend development with Go and/or Node.js is advantageous.
• Experience with modern JavaScript applications is advantageous.
• Experience with JS testing frameworks (Karma, Mocha, Chai, Sinon) is advantageous.
• Experience with relational/non-relational databases and data handling is advantageous.
• Experience with Docker containers, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment (AWS/PaaS) is a bonus.
• Agile/scrum experience is a plus.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and systems that support government digital services and citizen-facing platforms.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in existing applications and infrastructure.

What are we looking for?

• Minimum 3 years experience (or equivalent level of skill) with modern web applications using JavaScript.
• Experience in frontend development with React.js
• Experience in backend development using Go and/or Node.js is highly advantageous
• Experience with modern web applications in JavaScript is highly advantageous
• Experience in automated testing using JavaScript testing frameworks/libraries such as Karma, Mocha, Chai and Sinon is highly advantageous.
• Experience with database management/usage (both relational and non-relational), and handling of data in different environments is highly advantageous.
• Experience in using Docker containers, development of CI/CD pipelines, and deployment using cloud services such as AWS/PasSes/your own private servers is a nice bonus.
• Experience in the software development lifecycle in an Agile context is a plus point.
• Experience in Scrum is a plus point.
