Job summary

10X AI TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a hands-on Java/Spring Boot software engineer to design, implement, and maintain WMS/TMS components. You will translate business needs into robust APIs, data models, and interfaces, collaborating with product, ops, and end users.

You will work across the full software lifecycle, conduct tests, reviews, and deployments, and ensure performance, localization, and multi-time-zone readiness for regional deployments in Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java and Spring Boot development with REST APIs and SQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyse real warehouse, transportation, delivery, commodities, procurement, transaction and settlement needs and translate them into business rules, technical designs, interface specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Design, develop, and maintain application and service software for WMS, TMS, and related systems, including inbound/outbound operations, inventory, picking, sorting, packing verification, waybills, and route planning.
• Implement backend services, REST APIs, data models, and business rules using Java and Spring Boot, integrated with order, finance/settlement, mapping, and route-planning systems.
• Update and enhance existing software in response to growth and feedback; diagnose defects and improve data consistency, concurrency, performance, reliability, and localisation.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and regression tests; participate in code reviews; establish testing procedures; support pre-release acceptance and post-release validation.
• Monitor production services through logs, metrics, and alerts; identify root causes; implement corrective actions; support releases and incident resolution.
• Coordinate with device/integration engineers to connect hardware like PDAs/barcode scanners and printers; define interface and performance requirements and perform end-to-end validation.
• Maintain technical design, API, test, and release documentation and use Git/CI/CD to deliver maintainable software.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Work with product managers, business operations, and end users to research and analyse real warehouse, transportation, delivery ,commodities, procurement, transaction and commodity settlement needs, and translate them into clear business rules, technical designs, interface specifications, and acceptance criteria.
2. Design, develop, and maintain application and service software for WMS, TMS, and related systems, including inbound and outbound operations, inventory, picking and sorting, packing verification, waybills, automated route planning, driver operations, and workflow state transitions etc.
3. Implement backend services, REST APIs, data models, and business rules using technologies such as Java and Spring Boot, and integrate them reliably with order, supply chain, finance/settlement, mapping, and route-planning systems.
4. Update and enhance existing software in response to business growth and user feedback. Diagnose defects and improve data consistency, concurrency handling, performance, reliability, maintainability, localisation, and time-zone support while preserving required backward compatibility.
5. Develop and execute unit, integration, and regression tests; participate in code reviews; establish or improve testing and validation procedures; and support pre-release acceptance and post-release validation with QA and business teams.
6. Monitor production services through logs, metrics, and alerts; identify root causes of operational issues; implement corrective or preventive actions; and support routine releases and incident resolution.
7. Where a feature involves operational devices, work with device, mobile, platform, or hardware-integration engineers to integrate software with industrial PDAs/barcode scanners, label or waybill printers, mobile location/GPS functions, weighing devices, or temperature-monitoring devices. Define interface, compatibility, and performance requirements and perform end-to-end validation.
8. Maintain necessary technical design, API, test, and release documentation, and use Git, code review, and the team's CI/CD practices to deliver testable and maintainable software.
   

Requirements

1. Hands-on development experience with Java and Spring Boot, including REST APIs, relational databases, SQL, data modelling, and common transaction-processing patterns.
2. Sound understanding of software engineering practices and the ability to analyse, implement, test, troubleshoot, and support the release of small to medium-sized features.
3. Experience with automated testing, Git, and code review, with the ability to investigate issues using logs, data, and test results rather than being limited to user-interface or configuration changes.
4. Good written and spoken English/Mandarin and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional and cross-location teams.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with WMS, TMS, OMS, SCM, retail, e-commerce, or food supply chain systems.
• Familiarity with microservices, caching, messaging, containers, or CI/CD.
• Experience with Vue/TypeScript, Android/PDA applications, barcode scanning, printing, mapping, or location-service integration.
• Experience supporting multilingual, multi-time-zone, Singapore, or Southeast Asian business systems.
