Job summary

Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation (VIS) in Singapore is seeking a cost-optimization professional to initiate and drive cross-functional cost saving projects within the fab environment. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience in wafer fab operations.
• Capacity planning, cycle time management and WIP control experience.
• Strong IE methodologies knowledge: line balancing, bottleneck management, and cost modelling.
• Proficient in data analysis tools (JMP, SQL, Tableau/Power BI, PROMIS).

Responsibilities

• Understand short-term and long-term cost saving goals and ensure alignment to corporate business goals.
• Perform cost and schedule duties under guidance from corporate.
• Present cost control to Fab GM and Senior Management.
• Involve in program/cost saving project benefits and develop key metrics.
• Analyze project progress in terms of pay-back, risk, resources and gaps.
• Define cost estimation scope, document assumptions and constraints, develop costing methodologies, align stakeholders.
• Develop and implement requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analysis, and perform monitoring and control functions.
• Facilitate definition of program scope, goals, deliverables, timeline and resources with sponsors.
• Establish structure and manage program dependencies, prioritize programs, track milestones and deliverables.
• Coordinate with project management team to resolve issues and ensure delivery.
• Provide cost control and planning advice to operations as required.
• Identify roadblocks and develop resolution plans.
• Assist in financial closeout of cost saving projects.

• Understand short-term and long-term cost saving goals and ensure alignment to corporate business goals
• Perform cost and schedule duties under the guidance from corporate.
• Responsible cost control to be presented to Fab GM and Senior Management.
• Involve in program / cost saving project benefit and develop key metrics / performance indices.
• Analyze program / cost saving project progress in terms of pay-back assessment, risk, resources consumption, interdependence and gaps.
• Define cost estimation scope, clearly document assumptions and constraints, develop costing methodologies, and align all stakeholders with the outcome.
• Develop and implement requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs and reports, perform performance monitoring and control functions for projects.
• Facilitate the definition of program scope, goals, deliverables, timeline and resource requirements in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders.
• Establish structure and manage program dependencies, prioritize programs, track program milestones and deliverables
• Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure delivery / completion to the project work
• Provide cost control and planning advice to the operation team when required
• Identify potential roadblocks, develop and execute resolution plans
• Assist in the financial closeout of cost saving projects

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with exposure to wafer fab operations.
• Prior experience in capacity planning, cycle time management, WIP control, and productivity optimization within a fab environment is required.
• Strong knowledge of IE methodologies, including line balancing, bottleneck management, and cost modelling.
• Proficient in data analysis tools and systems (e.g., JMP, SQL, Tableau/Power BI, MES such as PROMIS).
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• High level of accountability, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
