Job summary

Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation (VIS) in Singapore seeks an Industrial Engineering professional to drive cross-functional cost saving projects and align them with corporate goals. You will define costing methodologies, document assumptions, monitor payback, and report progress to Fab GM and senior management.

Strong data analysis, line balancing, and capacity planning skills are essential in a busy fab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing with wafer fab exposure is preferred.
• Experience with capacity planning, cycle time management, WIP control and productivity optimization.
• Familiar with IE methodologies including line balancing and bottleneck management.
• Data analysis skills with JMP/SQL/Tableau or Power BI; experience with MES is a plus.
• Strong communication and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Understand short- and long-term cost saving targets and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Perform cost and schedule duties under guidance from corporate leadership.
• Provide cost control updates to Fab GM and senior management.
• Develop metrics and performance indices for cost savings programs.
• Analyze progress, payback, risks, resources, interdependencies and gaps.
• Define cost estimation scope, document assumptions, and develop costing methodologies.
• Establish costing standards for reporting and ensure stakeholder alignment.
• Develop and implement cost recording, reporting, and analysis programs.
• Coordinate with sponsors to define program scope, milestones and resources.
• Manage program dependencies and prioritize milestones and deliverables.
• Collaborate with project management to resolve issues and ensure delivery.
• Offer cost control and planning guidance to operations as needed.
• Identify roadblocks and formulate resolution plans; assist in cost closeout.

Job Responsibilities

• Initiate and drive cross-functional cost saving projects to achieve corporate business goals
• Understand short-term and long-term cost saving goals and ensure alignment to corporate business goals
• Perform cost and schedule duties under the guidance from corporate.
• Responsible cost control to be presented to Fab GM and Senior Management.
• Involve in program / cost saving project benefit and develop key metrics / performance indices.
• Analyze program / cost saving project progress in terms of pay-back assessment, risk, resources consumption, interdependence and gaps.
• Define cost estimation scope, clearly document assumptions and constraints, develop costing methodologies, and align all stakeholders with the outcome.
• Develop and implement requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs and reports, perform performance monitoring and control functions for projects.
• Facilitate the definition of program scope, goals, deliverables, timeline and resource requirements in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders.
• Establish structure and manage program dependencies, prioritize programs, track program milestones and deliverables
• Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure delivery / completion to the project work
• Provide cost control and planning advice to the operation team when required
• Identify potential roadblocks, develop and execute resolution plans
• Assist in the financial closeout of cost saving projects

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing, with exposure to wafer fab operations.
• Prior experience in capacity planning, cycle time management, WIP control, and productivity optimization within a fab environment would be an added advantages.
• Knowledge of IE methodologies, including line balancing, bottleneck management, and cost modelling.
• Proficient in data analysis tools and systems (e.g., JMP, SQL, Tableau/Power BI, MES such as PROMIS) would be an added advantages.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• High level of accountability, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
