Production Planning Engineer

Job summary

Soitec is seeking a Production Planner to organize daily and weekly production activities in the semiconductor Fab, developing schedules based on demand, capacity, WIP, equipment availability, and delivery requirements.

You will monitor lot movement, coordinate with Operations, Process, Equipment Engineering, Yield, Quality and Order Management, and adjust plans for downtime and material constraints, reporting status and risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in IE or related field and 3+ years in semiconductor manufacturing or production planning.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and flow.
• Experience with WIP management and cycle-time optimization.
• Proficiency in data visualization and office productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and present daily, weekly production activities in the semiconductor Fab.
• Develop production schedules based on customer demand, production capacity, WIP levels, equipment availability, and delivery requirements.
• Monitor Lots daily movement through steps/layers to ensure targets are achieved.
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Process, Equipment Engineering, Yield Engineering, Quality, and Order Management teams.
• Monitor production performance and identify issues affecting output, target fulfillment and OTD.
• Adjust/control production plans according to equipment downtime, process constraints, material availability, and priorities changing.
• Analyze production data and provide recommendations to improve throughput, capacity utilization, and cycle time.
• Report preparation and communicate production status, risks, and recovery plans to relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in CIP related to Fab productivity, WIP control, cycle-time reduction, on hold lots disposition and production efficiency.

Requirements & qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in IE, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, wafer Fab, production planning, production control, or a related field.
• Candidates with good understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and flow are strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of WIP management, production scheduling, capacity planning, and cycle-time management.
• Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Power BI. Knowledge of Gemini is an advantage.
• Good in presentation, communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and in Swing shift.
