Job summary

DAEWOO ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD. is seeking a Site Engineer to support our MRT project site near Pasir Ris. The role focuses on supervision of civil and structural works and collaboration with design teams and clients to resolve construction issues.

Applicants should have a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years of experience on large infrastructure projects, with MRT/LTA exposure preferred. Outdoor work and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering; PE Board qualification acceptable to Commissioner of Building Control.
• Willing to work outdoors and on-site.
• Strong communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience with LTA and MRT works highly favorable.

Responsibilities

• Review civil & structural drawings and shop drawings to prepare construction methods.
• Identify risks and promote mitigation strategies.
• Organize regular meetings with subcontractors' technical teams to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with Design Team and client to resolve execution issues with proposals or sketches.
• Prepare method statements including risk assessment (RA) and SWP.
• Prepare RFIs for site inspections, MPI tests, welding, post-concrete works; participate in site inspections with QP.
• Review rebar BBS by subcontractors for precast installation.
• Supervise structural works: pile cap, base slab, columns (~12m), RC/PC beams, ramps, steel & RC struts.

Job description

We are a Korean MNC construction company looking for one Site Engineer to assist in our MRT project site.

The job scope and requirements are as follows.

Job scope:

• Review of Civil & Structural work drawings and shop drawing in connection with SEM and steel structure shop drawings during pre-construction phase to prepare construction methods.
• Identify risks and promote strategies and alternative methodologies to mitigate risks.
• Organize regular meetings with sub-contractors’ technical teams to resolve technical issues in pre-construction and construction phases.
• Work closely with Design Team and LTA/QPS (client) to resolve execution issues with appropriate functional proposals with an aid of presentation or sketches.
• Preparing method statement for construction working including RA and SWP.
• Prepare of RFI for site inspection for construction, MPI test, welding works and post concrete works and also involving in site inspection with QP.
• Review rebar BBS prepared by sub-con in compliance with standards and shop drawings roof slabs, steel structures and corbel details for precast installation.
• Supervision of structural construction works such as pile cap, undergrounds tanks, base slab, column (~12m high) including corbel, RC beams, Capping beam, RC and PC beam connections, ramps, steel and RC struts, hanging sumps and staircases.
• Review and supervision of surface water drain and waterproofing shop drawings and site work.
• Assist Construction Manager in planning and preparing daily progress reports.
• Tracking and optimizing manpower for each works.
• Prepare conceptual drawings for steel decking or other temporary structures required on site and reviewing shop drawing submitted by sub-con and supervising site installation.
• Review concept drawings and supervising installation of bracing connections between permanent plunge-in-columns for top down column construction.
• Review sub-con's shop drawing for steel strut and supervision of installation work.

Job requirements:

• Bachelor degree related to Civil Engineering disciplines, recognized by PE Board or qualification acceptable to the Commissioner of Building Control.
• Willing to work outdoors and at site.
• Good communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in large scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience with LTA and MRT works will be highly favorable.
