FERNS & KRIS MARINE ENGINEERING PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead painting, blasting, and related trades on marine projects. You will manage daily schedules, resources, and safety compliance to meet project timelines and quality standards.
You should have 5+ years in Singapore shipyards, strong knowledge of SSPC/NACE coatings, and proven leadership and communication skills to coordinate with clients and inspectors in a fast-paced environment.
Supervise & Lead Teams: Oversee painters, blasters, and general workers for productivity and quality.
Planning & Coordination: Manage daily work schedules, manpower, and equipment per project plan.
On-site Main Contact: Attend VSCC meetings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings with with Seatrium's project team and other contractors.
Permit-to-Work (PTW) Management: Ensure all necessary permits are obtained and safety protocols are followed.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Track project deadlines, submit daily progress reports, and flag issues.
Quality Assurance (QA): Ensure surface preparation and coating adhere to project specifications and international standards (e.g., SSPC, NACE, ISO 8501).
Quality Control (QC) Inspections: Conduct in-process and final inspections, checking surface profile, ambient conditions, WFT, and DFT.
QA/QC Documentation: Prepare and maintain all inspection reports, test results, and material traceability records.
Liaison: Coordinate with Seatrium's and client's inspectors for approvals.
Safety Leadership: Champion a zero-harm safety culture through example.
Safety Meetings & Reviews: Conduct daily toolbox meetings; review Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
PPE Enforcement: Ensure all personnel correctly use required Personal Protective Equipment.
Rule Adherence: Enforce strict compliance with shipyard safety rules (hot work, confined space, working at heights).
Incident Management: Investigate and report incidents, accidents, or near-misses promptly; participate in corrective actions.
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field Experience Minimum 5 years in Any Shipyard in Singapore
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of site supervision experience in marine sector, preferably within Singapore's marine, offshore, or heavy engineering sectors. Prior experience working in Sembcorp Marine / Seatrium or other major Singapore shipyards is highly advantageous.
Technical Certifications (Preferred):
Shipyard Safety Supervisor Course / Shipyard Safety Instruction Course (SSIC).
Strong knowledge of marine and protective coatings, surface preparation standards (SSPC-SP10, SP5, etc.), and application methods.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse workforce and liaise effectively with clients.
Thorough understanding of shipyard safety regulations and permit-to-work systems.
Proactive, resilient, and able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
