Job summary

ACHIEVE CAREER CONSULTANT PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Tanker Operator to manage end-to-end crude oil and product tanker voyages, including post-fixture operations, bunkering, laytime reviews, and risk management.

You will coordinate with Masters, shipowners, charterers, terminals and port agents, track schedules in Veson IMOS, and ensure compliance with charter party terms, sanctions and internal policies.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in tanker/vessel/shipping/post-fixture or marine logistics operations.
• Practical knowledge of crude oil, petroleum products or chemicals tanker operations.
• Experience coordinating vessels, port agents and terminals across loading/discharge.
• Familiarity with voyage planning, bunker arrangements and shipping documentation.
• Sound understanding of charter party terms (laycan, NOR, laytime, demurrage, off-hire, deviation).
• Veson IMOS experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Willing to handle time-sensitive operational matters outside regular hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end execution of tanker voyages from post-fixture to completion.
• Coordinate with Masters, shipowners, charterers, terminals, port agents and internal teams.
• Track vessel schedules and voyage performance, address disruptions and keep stakeholders updated.
• Appoint and manage port agents while coordinating berthing, terminal arrangements and cargo activities.
• Monitor loading and discharge operations to support safe and efficient vessel turnaround.
• Arrange bunker procurement and delivery schedules, review fuel consumption against voyage requirements.
• Assess laytime and other operational events affecting voyage costs or performance.
• Prepare and negotiate freight, demurrage and related claims with proper records.
• Follow up on outstanding voyage receivables and assist with claims recovery or dispute resolution.
• Keep voyage data, port calls, reports and supporting documentation updated in Veson IMOS.
• Ensure operations comply with charter party terms, sanctions and internal policies.

• Track vessel schedules and voyage performance, addressing operational disruptions and keeping stakeholders updated.
• Appoint and manage port agents while coordinating berthing, terminal arrangements, cargo activities and port formalities.
• Monitor loading and discharge operations to support safe and efficient vessel turnaround.
• Arrange bunker procurement and delivery schedules, and review fuel consumption against voyage requirements.
• Assess laytime and other operational events that may affect voyage costs or commercial performance.
• Prepare and negotiate freight, demurrage and related claims, ensuring all supporting records are properly maintained.

Requirements:

• Preferably at least 3 years of relevant experience in tanker, vessel, shipping, post-fixture or marine logistics operations.
• Practical knowledge of crude oil, petroleum product and/or chemical tanker operations.
• Experience coordinating vessels, port agents and terminals across loading and discharge activities.
• Familiarity with voyage planning, bunker arrangements, port procedures and shipping documentation.
• Sound understanding of charter party terms such as laycan, NOR, laytime, demurrage, off-hire and deviation.
• Experience with Veson IMOS would be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Prepared to handle time-sensitive operational matters outside regular working hours when necessary.
