Job summary

ROYAL OCEAN MARINE ENTERPRISE PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced shipping operations professional to manage voyage execution, vessel tracking, demurrage, and claims activity.

The role focuses on coordinating post-fixture operations with shipowners and charterers, monitoring schedules, and ensuring compliance with commercial terms. You will liaise with stakeholders, maintain fixture logs and performance metrics, and provide timely desk support to optimize cargo operations.

Responsibilities

• Voyage Execution & Vessel Tracking: monitor vessel movements, itinerary updates, cargo operations, and weather delays; review voyage instructions, stowage plans, and port log activities against terms.
• Demurrage & Claims Management: assist with laytime and demurrage calculations; analyze SOFs and prepare claim submissions; follow up with shipowners and charterers to resolve demurrage and other claims.
• Stakeholder & Client Liaison: maintain active communication with shipowners, charterers, and counterparts regarding schedules and operational issues.
• Commercial & Desk Support: provide operational feedback to the chartering desk and maintain fixture logs and vessel performance metrics.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Voyage Execution & Vessel Tracking

• Monitor daily vessel movements, itinerary updates, cargo operations, and weather delays to ensure seamless voyage execution.
• Review and cross-check voyage instructions, stowage plans, and port log activities against agreed commercial and operational terms.

Demurrage & Claims Management

• Assist with laytime and demurrage calculations, analyze Statements of Fact (SOF), and prepare formal claim submissions when required.
• Follow up on and resolve demurrage and other operational claims with Shipowners and Charterers.

Stakeholder & Client Liaison

• Maintain active, clear communication with Shipowners, Charterers, and other counterparties regarding schedule updates and operational matters.
• Serve as a reliable operational contact to follow up on and resolve operational issues promptly.

Commercial & Desk Support

• Provide prompt operational feedback and insights to the chartering desk, advising on potential issues and operational bottlenecks.
• Maintain operational database records, vessel performance metrics, and fixture logs to support commercial tracking.

Highly independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities and the drive to work under minimal supervision.

Operational Agility

Willingness and availability to handle urgent operational matters outside standard office hours when required.

Experience

Prior experience in post-fixture shipping operations is preferred, though promising candidates with a strong foundational background of shipping / logistics will be considered.
