Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and troubleshoot industrial gear motors and related equipment.
• Identify mechanical problems and determine causes of failures.
• Perform repair and overhaul work, including dismantling and reassembling gearboxes and motors.
• Carry out routine maintenance such as alignment checks and lubrication.
• Test repaired equipment for performance (temp, vibration, noise).
• Travel to customer sites for servicing and maintenance.
• Prepare service reports and update equipment records.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and troubleshoot industrial gear motors and related equipment.

• Identify mechanical problems and determine the causes of equipment failures.

• Perform repair and overhaul works, including dismantling, replacing worn parts, cleaning and reassembling gearboxes and motors.

• Carry out routine maintenance such as alignment checks, oil changes and lubrication checks.

• Keep tools organised and maintain a clean and safe working area.

• Test repaired gear motors to check performance, including temperature, vibration and noise levels.

• Prepare service reports, record parts used, track maintenance hours and update equipment records.

• Travel to customer sites for equipment servicing, repairs and maintenance works.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum ITE Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.

• Knowledge of mechanical gear systems, motor principles, industrial lubrication and maintenance practices.

• Able to use measuring tools such as micrometres, dial indicators and vernier callipers.

• Able to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints and schematics.

• Comfortable travelling to customer sites for servicing and maintenance works.

• Able to carry tools and equipment up to 10kg and perform site servicing activities.

• Comfortable working at heights, in non-air-conditioned environments and handling petroleum-based products.
