Job summary

Aggreko in Singapore is seeking a Service Technician - Electrical / Mechanical to install, commission, decommission and maintain equipment. You will troubleshoot failures, rebuild parts, and travel for offshore jobs on short notice, while using measurement tools for electrical and mechanical parameters.

The role requires 2–3 years’ experience and a good command of English, with a focus on safety and quality in every task.

Qualifications

• Experience with installation, commissioning and decommissioning of electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshooting and repair of generators, transformers, and related gear.
• Ability to travel for on/offshore jobs with short notice.
• Good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical installation tasks from drawings or schematics with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot machinery failure and perform remedial action with reference to manuals and schematics.
• Strip down and report condition of equipment.
• Advise on spare parts and rebuild to high standard.
• Assemble and operate equipment including generators, transformers and temperature control gear.
• Travel for on/offshore jobs on short notice and respond to emergency breakdowns after hours.
• Use analog and digital measurement equipment for electrical and mechanical parameter measurements.

Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Service Technician - Electrical / Mechanical in Singapore. This role is responsible for carrying out installations, commissioning, decommissioning as well as maintenance and repairs of equipment. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil-free air without end. We keep our customers’ worlds on. From world-class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades.

What you’ll do as a Service Technician - Electrical / Mechanical:

• To perform all mechanical and electrical installation tasks in support of new and existing machinery working from engineering drawings or schematics, with minimum supervision. This will include equipment such as a generator, transformer, load bank or temperature control equipment.


• To troubleshoot machinery failure or breakdown (mechanical and electrical) and to perform remedial action while referring to equipment manuals or electrical schematics with minimum supervision. This will include equipment such as a generator, transformer, load bank or temperature control equipment.


• To strip down and report the condition of a wide range of equipment as stated earlier.


• To advise on spare parts and to rebuild to a high standard.


• To assemble and operate all equipment which includes the generator, transformer, load bank, temperature control equipment and other equipment.


• To be able and ready to travel for on/offshore jobs on a short notice and to be able to respond to any emergency breakdown calls after office hours.


• To be able to use a variety of analog and digital measurement equipment for electrical and mechanical parameter measurements.

What we're looking for:

• Higher NITEC in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering 2-3 years’ experience in installation, commissioning, decommissioning, troubleshooting and repairs of equipment.


• Good command in English.
