Job summary

Wärtsilä in Singapore is seeking a Service Engineer, Propulsion to support mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of propulsion systems across FPP/CPP, gearboxes, thrusters and WaterJet. You will collaborate with field service teams to ensure reliable propulsion performance for customers in the region.

Qualifications

• Experience with propulsion systems and field service in marine environments.
• Ability to read electrical and automation schematics and drawings.
• Knowledge of control systems, marine power distribution, and instrumentation.
• Fluent written and spoken English; engineering degree required.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance and overhaul for FPP, CPP, Gearbox, Thruster, and WaterJet systems.
• Carry out propulsion product troubleshooting, maintenance and investigations.
• Warranty, commissioning work and supervision of new builds.
• System upgrades for propulsion control systems.
• Warranty execution, commissioning work and field service supervision.
• Prepare service work reports.
• System upgrades for Wärtsilä Propulsion System.
• Communicate technically with Wärtsilä field service stakeholders and customers.

We are looking for a Service Engineer, Propulsion. This is a permanent opportunity, and its location is Singapore.

What will you be doing as Service Engineer, Propulsion? Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Mechanical maintenance and overhauling skill require for FPP, CPP, Gearbox, Transverse thruster, Azimuth thruster and WaterJet etc
• Carry out Propulsion product trouble shoot, maintenance and investigation
• Execute Propulsion product warranty, commissioning work and supervision of new building project
• Perform system upgrade for Propulsion control system
• Executing warranty, commissioning work & supervision of Field Service.
• Preparing service work reports
• System upgrade for Wärtsilä Propulsion System
• Technical communications with Wärtsilä field service stakeholders and customers

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• Ability to work on engine/propulsion with field service & marine engineer background
• Ability to understand, use and correct electrical and automation schematics and drawings, and related component level documentation.
• Possess suitable real-world knowledge and experience related to control system specification and design, marine power distribution, motor control, process sensors and instrumentation, valves, pumps, fans and other process system componentry.
• Good command of written and verbal English, BSc in Mechanical, Marine, Electric & Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who have propulsion FS experience.
