Job summary

Wärtsilä Marine Power in Singapore is seeking a permanent Senior Service Engineer, Propulsion to lead maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of propulsion systems for our marine projects, based in Singapore. You will work with field service teams, read electrical and automation schematics, and apply your marine engineering experience to deliver reliable propulsion solutions and system upgrades.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BSc in Mechanical, Marine, Electric & Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering.
• More than 3 years' experience in propulsion tasks.
• Experience with propulsion field service.
• Ability to read electrical and automation schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance and overhauling for propulsion components.
• Troubleshoot propulsion products and carry out maintenance.
• Oversee warranty, commissioning work and supervision of new building projects.
• Upgrade propulsion control systems.
• Execute warranty, commissioning and field service supervision.
• Prepare service work reports.
• Communicate technically with field service stakeholders and customers.

We are looking for a Senior Service Engineer, Propulsion. This is a permanent opportunity, and its location is Singapore.

What will you be doing as Senior Service Engineer?

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Mechanical maintenance and overhauling skill require for FPP, CPP, Gearbox, Transverse thruster, Azimuth thruster and WaterJet etc
• Carry out Propulsion product trouble shoot, maintenance and investigation
• Execute Propulsion product warranty, commissioning work and supervision of new building project
• Perform system upgrade for Propulsion control system
• Executing warranty, commissioning work & supervision of Field Service.
• Preparing service work reports
• System upgrade for Wärtsilä Propulsion System
• Technical communications with Wärtsilä field service stakeholders and customers

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• Ability to work on engine/propulsion with field service & marine engineer background
• Ability to understand, use and correct electrical and automation schematics and drawings, and related component level documentation.
• Possess suitable real-world knowledge and experience related to control system specification and design, marine power distribution, motor control, process sensors and instrumentation, valves, pumps, fans and other process system componentry.
• Knowledge of machinery/field service work experience
• More than 3 years' experience of similar task
• Good command of written and verbal English, Diploma/BSc in Mechanical, Marine, Electric & Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who have propulsion FS experience.
