EGP SMART ENERGY PTE. LTD is seeking a hands-on engineering professional focused on technical analysis, troubleshooting, and practical solutions for GIS, HV switchgear, and related electrical equipment.

You will collaborate with customers, OEMs, and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure reliable service operations. The role requires interpreting drawings and specifications, coordinating maintenance activities, and traveling to project sites as needed.

Formación

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in GIS, HV switchgear, electrical equipment servicing, testing, commissioning or maintenance.
• Practical knowledge of GIS or HV switchgear systems.
• Familiarity with GIS primary and secondary systems is advantageous.
• Experience in electrical Transmission & Distribution (T&D), substations or power utility projects is an asset.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and equipment documentation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to work independently.
• Willing to travel for project and service assignments; Mandarin communication helpful.

Responsabilidades

• Provide engineering support for installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and upgrading of GIS, HV switchgear and related electrical equipment.
• Review technical specifications and drawings to develop appropriate work methodologies.
• Conduct site testing, analyse results and troubleshoot faults, including root cause investigations.
• Prepare and review method statements, service reports, test records and technical documentation.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance and service activities with internal teams, customers and contractors.
• Liaise with OEMs and suppliers to resolve technical queries and coordinate spare parts requirements.
• Assess equipment conditions and recommend preventive maintenance or improvements.
• Provide technical advice to customers on equipment performance and service requirements.

The role focuses on technical analysis, troubleshooting and developing practical engineering solutions. You will work closely with customers, equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and internal engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and support reliable service operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and upgrading of GIS, HV switchgear and related electrical equipment.
• Review technical specifications, engineering drawings and equipment requirements to develop appropriate work methodologies and engineering solutions.
• Conduct site testing, analyse test results and troubleshoot equipment faults, including root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Prepare and review method statements, service reports, test records and relevant technical documentation.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance and service activities with internal teams, customers and contractors.
• Liaise with OEMs and suppliers to resolve technical queries, clarify equipment specifications and coordinate spare parts requirements.
• Assess equipment conditions, identify potential technical risks and recommend preventive maintenance or improvement measures.
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to customers and end-users on equipment performance and service requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Preferably 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in GIS, HV switchgear, electrical equipment servicing, testing, commissioning or maintenance.
• Practical knowledge of GIS or HV switchgear systems, including equipment operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with GIS primary and secondary systems will be an advantage.
• Experience in electrical Transmission & Distribution (T&D), substations or power utility projects will be an advantage.
• Able to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical specifications and equipment documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Able to discuss technical matters and coordinate with business partners and equipment manufacturers who communicate primarily in Mandarin.
• Good communication and coordination skills when working with customers, OEMs and internal teams.
• Comfortable working in a site-based environment and responding to urgent technical issues or after-hours requirements when necessary.
• Willing to travel for project and service assignments when required.
