Job summary

POWER AUTOMATION PTE LTD is seeking an Engineer (HV & MV) to support engineering, technical coordination, and execution of high voltage and medium voltage switchgear/transformer projects in Singapore. You will work with Project Managers, OEMs, clients, consultants, and internal site teams to ensure compliance with OEM requirements, Singapore standards, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in HV/MV switchgear projects.
• Experience with 22kV–400kV transformer/switchgear and SP Group standards preferred.
• Good knowledge of HV/MV switchgear drawings and OEM documentation.
• Ability to coordinate protection, SCADA/RTU, and auxiliary systems.

JobSummary:

The Engineer (HV & MV) is responsible forsupporting the engineering, technical coordination, and execution of highvoltage and medium voltage switchgear/transformer projects in Singapore. Thisrole provides technical support across the project lifecycle, including designreview, engineering coordination, procurement technical clarifications,installation support, testing coordination, commissioning readiness, and finalhandover documentation.

The Engineer works closely with Project Managers, OEMs,clients, consultants, and internal site teams to ensure switchgear systems aredelivered in compliance with OEM requirements, Singapore standards, clientspecifications, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Engineering & Technical Coordination:

Support HV/MVswitchgear/transformer projects from engineering phase through to commissioningand handover. Review and coordinate technical deliverables including singleline diagrams, drawings, wiring diagrams, protection interface drawings, andequipment datasheets. Coordinate technical interfaces between switchgear,protection relays, SCADA/RTU, and auxiliary systems.

Design Review & Compliance:

Review OEMtechnical documents and ensure compliance with project specifications, IECstandards, and Singapore utility requirements (e.g., SP Group standards whereapplicable). Support technical clarifications with clients, consultants, andOEMs during design and execution stages.

Procurement Technical Support:

Supportprocurement activities including technical evaluation of switchgear/transformeroffers, review of technical deviations, clarification of scope, andcoordination of spare parts, special tools, and warranty requirements. Supportvendor coordination for manufacturing progress updates and documentationsubmission.

Installation & Site Support:

Providetechnical support to the Installation team during switchgear/transfomererection, busbar installation, cabling, control wiring, termination, and siteinterface works. Support troubleshooting of site installation issues and ensureproper implementation of method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) aswell as quality records.

Testing & Commissioning Support:

Coordinate andsupport Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT) andcommissioning activities. Ensure required test procedures, test records, andacceptance criteria are prepared and complied with. Support coordination withHV testing teams and OEM engineers for energization readiness.

Quality Documentation & Handover:

Supportpreparation and closeout of project documentation including as-built drawings,test reports, inspection records, O&M manuals, spares lists, and warrantydocuments. Ensure documentation is compiled in accordance with client handoverrequirements.

Safety & Compliance Support:

Supportcompliance with company Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, Singaporesafety regulations, and client site rules. Participate in risk assessments,toolbox meetings, and ensure technical work is executed with strong safetydiscipline.

Continuous Improvement:

Supportdevelopment of engineering standards, templates, and lessons learned.Contribute to improvement of installation and commissioning procedures toreduce rework and improve quality.

Requiredcompetencies and certifications:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in electrical infrastructure projects involving HV/MV switchgear.
• Exposure to either 22kV / 6.6kV / 66kV / 230kV / 400kV transformer / switchgear (Air Insulated / Gas Insulated) and experience supporting installation, testing, and commissioning activities in Singapore (SPPG Pink Pass Holder) is strongly preferred.
• Good working knowledge of HV/MV switchgear systems, drawings, and OEM documentation.
• Ability to coordinate technical interfaces across protection, SCADA/RTU, and auxiliary systems.
• Familiarity with FAT/SAT procedures and commissioning readiness requirements.
• Strong technical writing skills for method statements, ITPs, and handover documentation.
• Familiarity with Singapore electrical safety practices, codes, and WSH requirements.
• Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills.
