Job summary

Dräger is seeking a Field Service Engineer for the Safety Division to manage service orders, perform commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting across products and systems. You will serve as the main technical liaison for customers and internal teams, ensuring timely updates and quality service.

The role requires hands-on instrumentation experience and a background in electrical/electronic, mechanical, process instrumentation, or mechatronics engineering.

Qualifications

• Hands-on instrumentation experience and measurements required.
• Experience in service or engineering roles in semiconductor, electronics, oil & gas, or process industries.
• Marine industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage service orders from initiation to completion with cross-functional teams.
• Act as primary customer and internal contact for updates on technical issues and delivery schedules.
• Perform commissioning, preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and warranty repairs.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency service requests to minimize downtime.
• Prepare clear service reports and communicate technical findings to customers and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job coaching to junior engineers and technicians.

About the Job:

Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Safety Division

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned service orders from initiation through completion, coordinating closely with Service, Logistics, and other relevant departments to ensure timely and accurate execution.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, providing updates and support on technical issues, service requirements, equipment status, and delivery schedules.
• Perform equipment commissioning, contract maintenance, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, service documentation, and warranty repairs for assigned products and systems.
• Independently diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions to restore optimal performance.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency service requests, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing equipment downtime.
• Prepare and communicate technical findings, service reports, and recommendations clearly and professionally to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and on-the-job support to junior service engineers and technicians as required.
• Participate in service-related projects, equipment enhancement initiatives, emergency response activities, and other technical assignments to support business and customer needs.

Position Requirements:

• Dipl. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• Dipl. in Mechanical Engineering
• Dipl. in Process Instrumentation
• Dipl. in Mechatronics Engineering

Experience:

• 5-10 years of experience in service or engineering roles within the Semiconductor, Electronics, Oil & Gas, or Process industries.
• Hands-on experience with instrumentation equipment and instrument measurements.
• Marine industry experience will be advantageous.
