Job summary

HSBC Life (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. seeks a Vice President, High Net Worth Underwriting in Singapore to lead complex risk assessment and governance for ultra-high-net-worth clients.

You will guide medical, financial and compliance evaluations within underwriting guidelines and collaborate with reinsurers and partners. You will mentor junior underwriters, refine guidelines, and contribute to new product development while driving efficiency across the underwriting function in a fast-paced banking

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of underwriting experience in life, disability and CI insurance.
• At least 5 years specializing in High Net Worth (HNW) risk.
• University Degree or ALU/FALU designation preferred.
• Proven ability to manage complex cases and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong medical, non-medical and financial principles knowledge.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical, financial and compliance assessment per underwriting guidelines.
• Manage referral process to optimize capacity for ultra large risks.
• Build and maintain relationships with partners to resolve underwriting queries.
• Support training and development of junior underwriters.
• Review and refine guidelines to maintain market competitiveness.
• Provide underwriting insights for product development and company initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows.
