Job summary

Coforge is seeking a Senior Manual Test Engineer to design and execute comprehensive test strategies for enterprise software, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure quality across complex projects. You will perform functional, integration, system, regression, and UAT testing, manage defects, support release validation, and contribute to CI/CD quality initiatives within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering manual test strategies for enterprise software.
• Ability to design and execute comprehensive test plans and test data.
• Experience executing Functional, Integration, System, Regression, End-to-End, Smoke, Sanity, and UAT testing.
• Defect tracking and collaboration with developers, product owners and project managers.
• Experience performing release validation and production smoke testing.
• Ability to perform RCA and maintain RTM.
• Strong knowledge of STLC and SDLC.
• Experience with API testing using Postman or Swagger.
• Database testing using SQL.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and CI/CD practices.

• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and maintain the RTM.

• Perform API testing using Postman or Swagger to validate backend services.
• Conduct database testing using SQL queries to verify data integrity.
• Utilize JIRA and Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking.
• Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams and support CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and user stories to identify test needs and define test objectives
• Develop detailed test strategies, plans, scenarios, cases, and test data to validate software functionality
• Execute Functional, Integration, System, Regression, End-to-End, Smoke, Sanity, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure software quality
• Track, document, and manage defects while collaborating with developers, product owners, and project managers to facilitate timely resolution
• Support release validation and perform production smoke testing to confirm deployment stability
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure coverage and compliance
• Apply strong knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to optimize testing processes
• Perform API testing using Postman or Swagger to validate backend services
• Conduct database testing using SQL queries to verify data integrity and accuracy
• Utilize tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking
• Collaborate effectively within Agile/Scrum teams and support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Demonstrate analytical thinking and attention to detail to identify issues and improve testing processes

Required competencies and certifications

• Strong knowledge of STLC and SDLC
• Expertise in Functional, System, Integration, Regression, Exploratory, and Risk-Based Testing
• Experience with JIRA and Azure DevOps
• Proficiency in API testing using Postman or Swagger
• Ability to perform database testing using SQL
• Awareness of Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices
