Job summary

Leading maritime organisation is seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical management and performance of vessels within its fleet.

You will coordinate with Masters, Chief Engineers, yards and service providers to ensure safety, reliability and compliance with class, flag and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement across fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience as Chief Engineer is highly preferred.
• Proven shore-based experience as Technical Superintendent.
• Strong knowledge of class, flag and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the technical management and maintenance of assigned vessels.
• Ensure vessels operate safely, reliably and in compliance with class, flag, statutory and company requirements.
• Monitor vessel performance, maintenance schedules, machinery condition and technical KPIs.
• Plan and manage dry-docking, repairs, surveys, inspections and major maintenance projects.
• Coordinate with vessel Masters, Chief Engineers, crew, shipyards, class societies and external service providers.
• Review and manage vessel maintenance budgets, procurement and technical expenditure.
• Provide technical guidance and support to onboard teams.
• Investigate technical defects, breakdowns and incidents and ensure corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS and regulatory requirements.
• Support vetting, inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Monitor planned maintenance systems and ensure timely completion of critical maintenance activities.
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, charterers, class, flag authorities and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across fleet technical operations.
