Responsibilities
- Drive orders and sales revenue, taking responsibility in key account management.
- Build a strong sales pipeline and manage margin growth.
- Create standard works and maintain good CRM database hygiene.
- Achieve orders and sales targets, year‑on‑year growth and margin across all analytical product lines.
- Develop sales strategies to build opportunities, including researching and identifying new business opportunities (existing and new accounts); building strong rapport; providing technical information and clarifying customers’ doubts if any; configuring and preparing quotations as well as closing deals.
- Practice key account management skills – take accountability and ownership of assigned accounts, schedule customer visits, understand pain points, facilitate application problem‑solving with internal teams, and coordinate pre‑ and post‑sales activities.
- Show a sense of urgency and elevate issues early when necessary.
- Understand market trends and build knowledge of competitive offerings.
- Discuss and create marketing activities relevant to PerkinElmer’s solutions, meeting customer needs.
- Accountable for CRM data hygiene – set up, maintain, monitor, and cultivate accurate customer information and sales opportunities in Salesforce (SFDC) in an organized and timely manner.
- Prepare and deliver presentations through face‑to‑face visits or seminars to address customers’ business needs by accurately positioning PerkinElmer solutions.
- Collect information for internal discussion, strategize, and create business plans.
- Work closely with internal application, service teams, product line leaders and provide good customer support.
- Identify growth opportunities and submit accurate and timely sales forecasts.
- Develop business plans through quarterly action plans.
Qualifications
- Academic qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry.
- At least 5–8 years of sales experience in analytical instrument sales (chromatography, inorganic, material characterisation equipment).
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills in both verbal and written English and Chinese.
- Own transport and willing to travel as required.
- Independent and able to work both individually and as part of a team.
- Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Experience with Salesforce (SFDC) is an added advantage.
