Senior System QA Engineer, Embedded x86 & SLT Debug

Job summary

UST is seeking a hands-on system-debug engineer to own SLT and platform quality for embedded x86 products. You will investigate customer-return and factory-reported failures, reproduce complex issues, and drive corrective actions with design, validation, firmware, BIOS, and manufacturing teams.

The role requires strong experience with UART/JTAG, oscilloscopes, Linux, and scripting (Python/C++). You will mentor others, establish scalable debug methodologies, and communicate findings to engineers

Qualifications

• Hands-on system-debug experience with SLT and bring-up.
• Experience diagnosing boot issues and platform failures.
• Strong understanding of silicon-to-system stack.

Responsibilities

• Own or lead SLT debugging for customer and factory failures.
• Analyze boot errors, hangs, crashes, and reliability issues.
• Collect logs and diagnostics to guide root-cause actions.
• Design experiments and tests to prove hypotheses.
• Collaborate across teams to improve diagnostics and test stability.
• Prepare technical reports communicating conclusions and actions.
• Mentor engineers in system-debug and root-cause methods.
