Job summary

Bank of China Limited is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Administrator to operate and maintain server, storage, and virtualization platforms in a banking environment. Job Description

1. Perform operations and maintenance of server and storage hardware, including installation, configuration, health monitoring, fault handling, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management.
2. Administer and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems, ensuring system availability, performance, stability, and compliance with security baselines.
3. Perform platform-level administration of middleware and database systems, including installation, configuration, standardization, routine maintenance, monitoring, and patching, and coordinate with application teams to support system connectivity and integration requirements.
4. Administer and support virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V, as well as Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms including Horizon View, covering provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
5. Administer and maintain enterprise backup systems, including backup configuration, scheduling, monitoring, capacity management, and restoration support to ensure data protection and recoverability.
6. Perform capacity management, baseline management, and regular infrastructure health checks, identify potential risks, and support proactive remediation activities.
7. Perform basic Database administrator role for Oracle, SQL Server and MySql, such as installation, patching and fine tuning etc. proactive remediation activities.
8. Respond to infrastructure-related incidents and service degradation, perform incident investigation and root cause analysis (RCA), and track corrective and preventive actions to closure.
9. Participate in system and platform changes, upgrades, and patching activities, strictly following change management, approval, implementation, and rollback procedures.
10. Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance system reliability.
11. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and emergency response plans, ensuring operational readiness and audit compliance.
12. Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews by providing system operation records, configuration evidence, patching status, and technical documentation.
13. Participate in on-call rotation and provide 7×24 production support as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration or infrastructure operations, preferably within a banking, financial services, or large-scale enterprise environment.
• Strong sense of ownership, risk awareness, and the ability to operate in a highly regulated production environment.
• Experience with server and storage hardware, Windows and Linux system administration.
• Experience in middleware and database platform support.
• Working knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V) and VDI (e.g. Horizon View).
• Experience with enterprise backup systems, capacity management, and system health checks.
• Familiarity with incident handling, RCA, change management, and basic automation or scripting.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, as the role requires regular communication and coordination with Chinese-speaking counterparts at the Bank’s Head Office on IT operations, technical issues and related matters.

• Awareness of system security controls, privileged access management, vulnerability management, and operational logging practices.
