Job summary

SATA CommHealth in Singapore is seeking a skilled nurse/ allied health professional to join our clinical team. You will dispense medications in line with prescriptions, perform vaccinations, manage stock of clinical consumables, and assist doctors on duty.

You will conduct phlebotomy, draw blood, collect biodata, perform tests, ensure patient identification, and uphold infection control protocols. Training in BCLS/CPR and AED is required, with readiness to handle emergencies and support patient

Qualifications

• Experience in nursing or allied health with phlebotomy experience.
• Trained in BCLS/CPR and AED or equivalent.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols.

• Advise on side effects, dosing intervals, and contraindications.
• Perform vaccination and injection.
• Maintain stock levels for clinical consumables.

• Assist doctors on duty in treatments or procedures.
• Ensure resuscitation trolley and AED are prepared and functional.
• Follow infection control protocols.
• Perform wound dressing and stitch removal as required.
• Document test results and escort patient compliance.

Job description

• Dispense medication in accordance with 5 medication rights and the doctor’s prescription. Advise on side effects, dosing intervals and contraindication when needed. Perform stock check and all other dispensary related duties as necessary.
• Perform vaccination and injection.
• Manage and ensure healthy stock level for clinical consumables.
• Gather and document essential biodata (such as visual acuity for near and distant vision, colour vision, weight, height, and BMI). Conduct finger prick blood tests and urine tests, including interpreting and recording the results of the urine tests.
• Assist the doctor on duty in carrying out any treatment or clinical procedures.
• Ensure that resuscitation trolley and accessories are fully equipped, and all accessories are in optimal working order, paying special attention to expiry date and condition of all items.
• Perform wound dressing and removal of stitches.
• Perform phlebotomy when needed. Understand the indication and importance of the various laboratory investigations. Ensure proper patient’s identification and patient’s compliance with test requirement.
• Responsible for the administrative duties related to phlebotomy including labelling of samples and follow up.
• Collect and analyse data pertaining to client care, provide necessary counselling as and when needed.
• Trained in BCLS and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and know how to use a manual resuscitator.
• Manage clients during medical emergency situations (include next of kin).
• Perform Diabetic Foot Screening (DFS) and Diabetic Retinal Photography (DPR).
• Adhere to organisation’s infection control protocols.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by nurse-in-charge.
