Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead firmware development for SSDs. The role focuses on developing, validating, and optimizing SSD controller firmware across memory solutions, with emphasis on performance, power efficiency, and reliability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to design improvements while integrating AI-assisted tooling to boost efficiency and quality in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Over 3 years’ relevant experience in firmware or embedded systems development using the C programming language.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware IP subsystems for SSD products to meet performance, endurance, capacity, functionality, quality, and reliability requirements.
• Execute firmware development, integration, bench testing, debugging, and validation activities for SSD controllers and storage products.
• Perform root cause analysis, failure triage, and defect isolation; document findings and support corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain firmware unit, functional, and integration tests to ensure quality and performance objectives are met throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with hardware, validation, system, and product engineering teams to resolve complex development issues and improve product readiness.
• Analyze firmware behavior and support enhancements that improve performance, reduce latency, lower power consumption, and simplify SoC complexity.
