Job summary

Micron Technology in Singapore is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead firmware development for SSD products, developing and testing firmware IP subsystems to meet the technical spec matrix, and ensuring performance, endurance, and reliability.

The role requires collaboration with multi-functional teams, mentoring engineers, and applying AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, with a strong emphasis on quality and responsible use of AI in research and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer/Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years embedded firmware development and debugging.
• 2+ years in storage industry or related technology.
• Proficiency in C and Rust; Python is a plus.
• Experience with PCIe/NVMe is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware IP subsystems for SSD products to meet the technical spec matrix, including performance, endurance, capacity, functionality, and quality/reliability.
• Develop a firmware unit and functional tests to ensure subsystems meet requirements at each integration stage.
• Communicate detailed and accurate activity summaries to management and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor and develop engineers; foster collaboration and team morale.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness while adhering to standards.
