Job summary

Mastercard’s Payments Network SRE team seeks an experienced Lead Engineer to own end-to-end reliability, monitoring, and capacity of crucial payment platforms. You will champion observability, drive RCA processes, and collaborate with Product and Development to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient services.

Ideal candidates bring deep SRE experience, strong problem-solving, and hands-on expertise with Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, and IaC tools.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in SRE or related operations roles
• Experience with e-commerce, financial services, or large-scale SaaS platforms is a plus
• Strong infrastructure troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Proficient in monitoring/observability ecosystems (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry)
• Excellent cross-functional communication and RCA leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead health, performance, monitoring, alerting, and capacity analysis for core Mastercard infrastructure.
• Design strategies to close gaps in monitoring and deliver unified telemetry dashboards.
• Conduct regular incident reviews and drive root cause analysis and remediation actions.
• Leverage automation and AI to improve proactive detection and self-healing capabilities.
• Develop testing plans for new environments, DR exercises, and post-maintenance checks.
• Champion continuous learning and knowledge sharing across networking and infrastructure teams.
• Evaluate hardware/firmware/software upgrades and conduct POC testing for risk assessment.
