Job summary

SM2 Consulting is seeking a Head of Specification & Sales to lead the specification and commercial team in driving project opportunities and sustainable growth across building materials. The role focuses on strategy, leadership, and market expansion within a dynamic industry network.

You will lead a team to win major projects, manage specifications through the lifecycle, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in specification, sales or business development within building materials or related industry.
• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Business or Sales.
• Strong understanding of the specification process and project lifecycle, with an established network.

Responsibilities

• Lead the specification and sales strategy to achieve revenue targets.
• Drive new business development by identifying high-value project opportunities.
• Build relationships with developers, architects, interior designers, contractors, furniture manufacturers and installers.
• Increase product specifications across major projects and manage opportunities from engagement to completion.
• Develop strategies to strengthen market penetration and expand the customer base.
• Lead and develop the specification and sales team to maximize performance.
• Oversee dealer, showroom and related sales activities as needed.
• Represent the organisation at industry events to generate opportunities.
• Collaborate with marketing, finance, logistics and customer service for project execution.
