Job summary

BeathChapman Pte Ltd is seeking a Principal Solution Architect to set the architectural direction for software at scale in Singapore. This senior role spans cloud, private cloud and on-premises, shaping standards, platforms and an in-house engineering culture.

You'll translate executive priorities into multi-year roadmaps, establish architecture principles, and act as the senior design authority for complex systems, while mentoring engineers and maturing the organisation's engineering capability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years across solution architecture, software engineering and technology leadership.
• Track record delivering large-scale or mission-critical systems.
• Hands-on understanding of cloud-native, microservices, APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience defining architecture principles and governance at an organisational level.
• Strong grounding in Agile, DevSecOps and CI/CD across cloud, on-prem and/or private cloud.

An established, well-resourced organisation is investing significantly in its technology and engineering capability, and is looking for a Principal Solution Architect to set the architectural direction for how it builds software at scale.

This is a senior, organisation-wide role for an architect who wants to shape not just individual solutions, but the standards, platforms and engineering culture behind them. You'll be the senior architectural authority across strategic, high-complexity initiatives spanning cloud, private cloud and on-premises environments - and you'll play a central part in growing and maturing a strong in-house engineering team.

What you'll do

• Translate business and executive priorities into multi-year technology and architecture roadmaps.
• Define organisation-wide architecture principles, reference architectures and blueprints across cloud, private cloud and on-prem.
• Act as the senior design authority for complex systems - application architecture, microservices, APIs, integration, data flows and platform services - optimising for scalability, resilience, performance, security and maintainability.
• Establish engineering standards and governance (architecture and design reviews, code quality, secure SDLC) that raise the bar without slowing delivery.
• Build reusable frameworks, component libraries, CI/CD templates, IaC patterns and internal developer platforms that accelerate delivery across teams.
• Mentor architects and senior engineers, and help grow the organisation's engineering maturity and capability.
• Lead technology R&D and proof-of-concepts on emerging tech, translating what works into practical patterns and platforms.
• Advise senior leadership on architecture, engineering investment and technology risk.

What you'll bring

• Deep, hands-on understanding of modern software architecture - cloud-native, microservices, APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience defining architecture principles, engineering standards and technology governance at an organisational level.
• Strong grounding in Agile, DevSecOps and CI/CD, and experience across public cloud, private cloud and/or on-premises environments.
• Experience building reusable frameworks, shared services, developer platforms or engineering accelerators.
• Solid security architecture and secure software engineering practices.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers/architects and raising engineering maturity.
• Strong stakeholder management, able to engage and influence senior business and technology leaders.
• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related - or equivalent professional experience.
