Job summary

GovTech in Singapore is seeking a Software Engineer for the CBD payment team to ensure MEPS+ quality and reliability. You will perform code reviews, validate security findings, and oversee test automation and release verification, with on-call readiness for production incidents.

The role emphasizes security, audit support, and contingency planning, working with Java, SQL, and shell scripting in a backend and payment processing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and implementing Java applications.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Watermelon, or similar).
• Experience supporting production systems.
• Familiarity with code scanning tools and vulnerability assessment.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Code Review & Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews of internal and vendor enhancements/fixes.
• Review fixes against approved designs and standards; document findings and remediation.
• Security & Scan Validation: Lead weekly review of code scan findings and validate fixes.
• Review security findings from source code reviews and penetration tests; validate remediation.
• Technical Solution Review: Validate that technical solutions meet design, performance, and security requirements.
• Contingency Planning: Develop task lists for contingency exercises and assist audit responses.
• Test Automation: Maintain and enhance MEPS+ test automation scripts; evolve automation framework.
• Release Verification: Verify MEPS+ enhancement releases before production deployment.
• SLI/SLO Contributions: Define system SLIs/SLOs with operations.
