Job summary

Five M Construction & Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead complex construction projects from planning through completion. You will coordinate with clients, consultants, main and subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure schedule, quality and contractual obligations are met.

The role requires a minimum of 6 years of project management experience in construction, a related degree, and strong reading of drawings, scheduling and cost control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of relevant project management experience in construction.
• Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Able to read and understand construction drawings, specs and technical docs.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, cost control, procurement and subcontractor management.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Willing to travel between project sites and attend meetings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and oversee construction projects from commencement to completion.
• Coordinate and manage project activities to ensure schedule, specs, quality and contracts are met.

• Prepare and monitor project schedules, progress, manpower allocation and material requirements.
• Supervise site progress and ensure safety, efficiency and conformance with drawings and specs.
• Review and coordinate drawings, shop drawings, method statements and submissions.
• Monitor project costs, variations, procurement and overall budget.
• Identify risks and delays, implement corrective actions.
• Attend project and coordination meetings with stakeholders.
• Ensure permits, inspections, testing and approvals are obtained.
• Monitor subcontractors and suppliers against requirements and timelines.

Job Scope

• Plan, manage and oversee construction projects from commencement to completion.
• Coordinate and manage project activities to ensure works are completed according to project schedule, specifications, quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Lead and coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules, work progress, manpower allocation and material requirements.
• Supervise site progress and ensure construction works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Review and coordinate construction drawings, shop drawings, method statements and technical submissions.
• Monitor project costs, variations, procurement and overall project budget.
• Identify project risks, site issues and potential delays, and implement appropriate solutions and corrective actions.
• Attend project meetings, site meetings and coordination meetings with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Ensure all necessary permits, inspections, testing and approvals are obtained before and during project execution.
• Monitor the performance of subcontractors and suppliers and ensure works are carried out according to agreed requirements and timelines.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore's workplace safety, health and environmental requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship and quality control.
• Manage project documentation, progress reports, site records and other relevant project documents.
• Monitor project handover, testing and commissioning, rectification works and final completion.
• Provide regular updates to management on project progress, costs, manpower, issues and overall project status.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Management.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant project management experience in the construction.
• Experience in managing construction projects from planning through to completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, project coordination and site operations.
• Able to read and understand construction drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Good knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, procurement and subcontractor management.
• Good understanding of Singapore workplace safety and health requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under tight project schedules.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management / construction software.
• Able to work independently and lead a project team.
• Willing to travel between project sites and attend meetings when required.
• Candidates with relevant experience in cleanroom, M&E, industrial or semiconductor projects will have an added advantage.
