HOCK LIAN SENG INFRASTRUCTURE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to plan, coordinate, and supervise site construction activities for industrial building projects in Singapore.

Job Summary

The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising site construction activities to ensure that works are carried out safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and statutory requirements. The role oversees site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of industrial building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily construction activities to ensure timely project execution.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and method statements before commencement of work.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities on technical and site matters.
• Supervise and monitor site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings and project specifications.
• Prepare and monitor construction work programmes and ensure work progresses according to the project schedule.
• Resolve technical and construction issues promptly to minimize delays.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and company safety policies in collaboration with the Safety Officer.
• Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and relevant authorities and ensure timely closure of inspection comments.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, method statements, material submissions, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Plan and coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and manpower allocation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, and work quality.
• Prepare site progress reports and update management on project status, risks, and mitigation measures.
• Attend project meetings, technical coordination meetings, and site inspections.
• Ensure proper documentation of site activities, inspection records, and as-built information.
• Assist in testing and commissioning activities and project handover.
• Support project completion, defect rectification, and final handover to the client.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Requirements

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in Singapore's construction industry, with at least 5 years in industrial building projects under a main contractor.
• Experience in factories, warehouses, logistics facilities, data centres, clean rooms, manufacturing plants, or high-tech industrial developments is an advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and industrial building construction.
• Good understanding of Building and Construction Authority (BCA) requirements, relevant Singapore Standards, and statutory regulations.
• Familiarity with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and quality management systems.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong planning, coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and BIM software (where applicable).
