To ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, colleagues, and hotel assets by performing security duties, responding to incidents, ensuring compliance with safety systems, and upholding the hotel's service standards. The Senior Security Officer acts as a shift lead, mentors junior officers, and serves as the primary liaison with authorities during emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations & Supervision
- Lead and supervise the Security Officer team on shift; assign posts, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to SOPs
- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of interior and exterior areas, including back-of-house, guest floors, public areas, loading bays, and perimeter.
- Monitor and operate CCTV, access-control, duress alarms, and fire-life safety panels; initiate immediate corrective action when faults or suspicious activity are detected.
- Control and account for master keys, staff passes, radios, and other accountable stock; maintain accurate logs.
- Enforce hotel policies on unauthorized entry, loitering, trespassing, and removal of disruptive persons while preserving guest experience.
Incident Management & Investigations
- Respond promptly to accidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, thefts, and safety hazards; administer First Aid/CPR/AED within certification scope and coordinate with EMS.
- Lead initial incident investigations: gather facts, interview relevant parties, secure evidence, and prepare clear, objective written reports for management and insurers.
- Maintain detailed logbooks, daily activity reports, and shift summaries; ensure all incidents are recorded and escalated appropriately.
Emergency Preparedness & Compliance
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the hotel's emergency procedures (fire, bomb threat, medical, evacuation) and lead drill participation.
- Ensure all security and life-safety systems are functional; report defects and follow up on rectification.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements (e.g., PLRD licensing where applicable) and hotel policies on safety, security, and data confidentiality.
Guest & Stakeholder Service
- Provide a visible, reassuring, and service-oriented security presence; assist guests with room access issues, safety concerns, and welfare matters.
- Partner with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, F&B, and other departments to resolve safety risks and support smooth operations.
- Act as liaison with police, SCDF, and other authorities during incidents; coordinate site access and information sharing per protocol.
Training & Development
- Coach Security Officers on observation skills, report writing, de-escalation, and hospitality service standards.jobs.
