Job summary

Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an Assistant Director, Business Risk Management WRB SG, to identify, assess and manage end-to-end process risks for assigned processes within WRB Singapore. The role requires collaboration with Process Owners and cross-functional teams to strengthen governance and risk controls, including AI/ML use cases.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail banking or wealth management risk, covering operational risk, conduct risk, regulatory risk, data privacy risk and control governance.
• Strong understanding of retail banking and wealth management products, customer journeys, sales processes, complaints management and control frameworks.
• Familiarity with regulatory expectations relating to AI, data governance, consumer protection, data privacy and the ethical use of technology in the banking industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead the identification and management of end-to-end processes within the WRB Process Universe and associated risks.
• Partner with Process Owners to proactively manage risks and support risk assessments, thematic reviews, audits and remediation activities.
• Provide independent challenge and advice on business strategies, change initiatives, new products and emerging risks.
• Assess business and operational risk implications, recommend mitigating actions, and promote risk awareness and capability building across the business in alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).
• Drive adherence to Business Risk Management objectives and key risk metrics, including timely completion of risk assessments, issue escalation, reporting and remediation.
• Coordinate risk incident management with Process Owners and relevant country, regional and Group stakeholders. Support the assessment and governance of risks arising from new/change processes/initiatives, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) use cases, bridging business/operational risks and risk associated with the use of AI and ML.
