Job summary

NTU’s Institute for Laboratory Operations and Resource Management seeks a leader to oversee the setup and readiness of a new lab and manage day-to-day operations with a focus on maximizing resource efficiency. Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline with extensive laboratory experience.
• Experience in lab setup, operations, and SOP implementation.
• Ability to support research programmes, track timelines, and grant activities.
• Proficient in procurement planning, vendor coordination, and financial processes.
• Strong understanding of lab safety practices and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent coordination and communication with faculty, researchers and support units.

Responsibilities

• Lead lab setup, commissioning, and readiness of the new facility.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and optimize resource use (equipment, chemicals, gases, consumables).
• Develop and maintain SOP frameworks and inventory systems.
• Coordinate procurement and vendor engagements for major purchases.
• Ensure safety compliance and coordinate risk assessments and training.
• Interact with professors and central services to align with research priorities.
