Job summary

IDMxS at NTU is establishing a new laboratory facility and seeks a senior operations leader to oversee setup, commissioning and ongoing daily operations in Singapore. You will manage space planning, equipment installation and workflow design to support research priorities.

The role requires a PhD with 8+ years of lab experience, strong project management, procurement coordination, and governance of SOPs and risk controls to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in lab setup, operations and SOP implementation.
• Ability to track timelines, prepare proposals, and coordinate with offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the setup, commissioning and operational readiness of the new lab.
• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and resource utilization.
• Establish lab-level management systems (inventory, equipment, SOPs).
• Identify workflow improvements and coordinate with institutional teams.
• Provide operational support to research programs and grant activities.
• Coordinate procurement and vendor engagement for equipment and consumables.
• Ensure laboratory safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate lab access and collaborations with internal and external partners.
