Job summary

POKKA PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Food Science & Technology professional to lead new product development, especially beverages, and drive innovative concepts from market insights. You will optimize formulations, manage supplier communications, and ensure compliance with food standards.

The role includes overseeing documentation, supporting junior staff, and delivering pilot productions to validate new products and cost-down initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science & Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in developing new products.
• Experience in product formulation, factory processing & production, food regulation, raw materials sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD projects and manage progress to meet deadlines.
• Formulate recipes and verify new products before market launch.
• Communicate with suppliers on new materials or technical information.
• Prepare necessary documentation for new products.
• Conduct test trial production.
• Plan and implement cost-down changes via alternative materials or recipe modifications.
• Run pilot production to validate changes.
• Develop and propose innovative product concepts from market insights.
• Transfer knowledge and train junior staff.
• Support R&D documentation to maintain ISO/BRC quality systems.
• Ensure proper documentation for certificates, halal, and related quality standards.

Job Summary:

• To conduct new product development & related R&D activities.
• To develop and propose innovative new product concepts from own ideas or inspirations.
• To proceed cost down by utilization of alternative suppliers or modification of recipe.
• To support Junior staff.

Job Responsibilities:

-New Products Development (NPD)

• Responsible for R&D Projects assigned and managing their progress to meet the targeted deadline.
• Formulation of recipes and verification of new products before the market launch
• Communication with supplier on new materials or technical information.
• Prepare necessary document for new products.
• Conduct test trial production.

-Modified products for Cost Down & Recipe Rationalisation

• Plan and implement changes to raw materials from alternative suppliers and changes to existing recipes to reduce costs.
• Run pilot production

-Develop and propose Innovative new products concepts

• Develop and propose unique new product concepts based on insights from the market and supplier information.
• Join R&D Innovative Meeting in generating new ideas to generate next successful pillar for company

-Technical Support

• Transfer knowledge and know how to train junior staff and support them technically.
• Support documentation for Sales-Customers enquiries.

-System Management

• Ensure all necessary documents for certificate is in place & final approval received.
• Support R&D documentation to support maintenance of company ISO quality system standard.
• Ensure recipe & product specification are issued to relevant departments timely.
• Ensure all documents for HCS are in place & final approval receive.
• Ensure all documents for halal are in place & final approval receive.
• Proper R&D documentation to support maintenance of company BRC/ISO quality system standard.

Requirements

-Education and Experience

• Degree in Food Science & Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in development new products.
• Experience in product formulation, factory processing & production, food regulation, raw materials sourcing.

-Professional Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience to develop food formulations with a focus on beverages. In particular work experience in the following areas is desirable.

-Dairy or Protein Drink

• Functional or Supplement drink
• Possess basic knowledge of food ingredients and be able to discuss on equal terms with relevant suppliers.
• Knowledge and understanding of basic regulations related to food

• Initiative and complete the responsible projects with the relevant departments.
• Time management to meet project deadlines by preparing for risk.
