Job summary

KH ROBERTS PTE. LTD. is seeking a motivated early-career science professional to join our food ingredients team. You will stay updated with industry practices, develop prototypes, document specifications, and translate lab-scale results into scalable production processes.

You will work with regulatory/compliance colleagues, optimize lab and pilot plant capabilities, train staff, and ensure cleanliness. A BSc in Food Science or Chemical Engineering with 0-3 years' experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in a relevant field with up to 3 years in food science or related discipline.
• Ability to apply the scientific method, analyze data and draw conclusions.
• Strong communication and self-motivation to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Stay up to date in area of expertise via industry best practices, trainings and collaborations.
• Create/improve product prototypes through experimentation and laboratory/pilot tests
• Establish product specifications and documentation.
• Evaluate products' characteristics for implications on shelf life, quality and scalability.
• Conceptualise commercial production processes for food ingredients using current or new facilities and equipment.
• Translate lab/pilot to commercial production in compliance with requirements through related operations & regulatory colleagues
• Make recommendations in the design of new manufacturing processes or modify existing equipment or processes
• Able to conduct training and coach staff
• Maintain laboratories cleanliness
• Optimise/recommend lab & pilot plant capabilities in line with business objectives.

• Make recommendations in the design of new manufacturing processes or modify existing equipment or processes
• Able to conduct training and coach staff

Required Skills

• Recognised BSc with 0-3 years in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline, and/or experience in flavour or related industry research/processing function
• Be inquisitive, independent, open-minded, analytical & able to carry out the scientific method
• Ability to communicate effectively, and be self-motivated
• A commitment to maintaining company standards of quality.

• Working days is from Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
• Frequent Shuttle Bus from/to Office
