Job summary

Helius Technologies is seeking a Senior OpenShift & Linux Platform Engineer (L3) to manage and secure enterprise OpenShift and RHEL infrastructure. You will handle RCA on complex incidents, drive platform upgrades, and enforce security standards across hybrid environments.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting OpenShift clusters, providing L3 support for RHEL across on-prem and cloud, and delivering automation using Ansible, Python, or Bash.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Linux System Administration/Platform Engineering
• 3+ years dedicated to Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x)
• Advanced proficiency in RHEL 7/8/9 and related OS concepts
• Solid understanding of KubeVirt, container networking, storage and virtualization platforms
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Bash, or Python and automation tooling

Responsibilities

• Triage and resolve L3 OpenShift issues across clusters (control plane, worker nodes, etcd, ingress, service mesh, KubeVirt)
• Perform platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle planning
• Enforce CIS benchmarks, RBAC, and system hardening across hybrid environments
• Develop and maintain automation playbooks and integrations with enterprise tooling (Splunk, BigFix, AD/SSO)

Senior Red Hat OpenShift & RHEL Engineer (L3)

Role Level: Senior / L3 Escalation

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior OpenShift & Linux Platform Engineer (L3) to manage, secure, and maintain enterprise Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) infrastructure. Serving as the highest escalation point, you will perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on complex OS and platform incidents, drive platform upgrades, and enforce system security standards across hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

• L3 OpenShift Support: Troubleshoot and maintain OpenShift 4.x clusters (control plane, worker nodes, etcd, ingress, service mesh, and KubeVirt); drive platform lifecycle planning, upgrades, and patching.
• Linux Platform Administration: Provide top-tier L3 support for RHEL 7/8/9 across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure; perform root cause analysis (RCA) for kernel, storage (LVM/NFS), and networking/SELinux incidents.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce RBAC, system hardening, and image vulnerability remediations in alignment with CIS benchmarks and enterprise policies.
• Integrations & Automation: Maintain automation s and playbooks using Ansible, Python, or Bash while integrating platforms with enterprise tools (Splunk, BigFix, Active Directory/SSO).

Requirements & Key Qualifications

• Experience: 7+ years in Linux System Administration/Platform Engineering with 3+ years dedicated to Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x).
• OS Expertise: Advanced proficiency in RHEL 7/8/9, systemd, storage drivers, firewalld, and SELinux.
• Architecture Knowledge: Solid understanding of KubeVirt, container networking, persistent storage, and virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM).
• Automation & ing: Strong hands‑on experience with Ansible, Bash, or Python.
