Job summary

Helius Technologies in Singapore is seeking a Senior Engineer (L3 Escalation Specialist) with deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and Linux to join our team on a 12-month engagement. This role is based in Singapore and requires on-site work at our office.

You will act as the highest technical escalation point for complex platform and OS issues across enterprise hybrid cloud environments, providing L3 OpenShift and Linux support, upgrades, hardening, and automation using Ansible, Bash, or Python.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Linux System Administration or Platform Engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x).
• Strong proficiency in RHEL 7/8/9 administration and deep troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of KubeVirt architecture, KVM, and VMware virtualization.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage setups and network routing/security.
• Experience in automation using Ansible, Bash, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Provide L3 escalation support for OpenShift on-premise and hybrid environments.
• Administer, troubleshoot, and maintain OpenShift clusters, control plane, and nodes.
• Manage OpenShift upgrades, patching, and lifecycle planning.
• Diagnose pod, deployment, namespace, PV, and Istio service mesh issues.
• Implement RBAC, network policies, and security contexts.
• Support integrations with AD, SSO, Splunk, Ansible.
• Enforce CIS-compliant hardening for OpenShift and container images.
• Provide L3 Linux platform support and RCA for OS incidents.

We are seeking a Senior Engineer (L3 Escalation Specialist) with deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift container platforms and Linux infrastructure to join our team in Singapore. In this role, you will serve as the highest technical escalation point for complex platform and OS-level issues across enterprise hybrid cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Red Hat OpenShift Platform Support

• Serve as L3 escalation support for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) across on-premise and hybrid cloud environments.
• Administer, troubleshoot, and maintain OpenShift clusters, control plane, worker nodes, etcd, and ingress/egress components.
• Manage OpenShift upgrades, patching, and version lifecycle planning.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to pods, deployments, namespaces, persistent volumes, operators, and Service Mesh (Istio).
• Implement and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), network policies, and security contexts.
• Support integrations with enterprise tools (Active Directory, SSO, Splunk, BigFix, Ansible).
• Enforce hardening standards on OpenShift and container images in line with CIS benchmarks.

2. Linux Platform Support

• Provide L3 support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) and other Linux distributions.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for OS-level incidents including kernel panics, performance degradation, storage faults, and network issues.
• Manage system hardening, patching, and compliance activities in line with security baselines.
• Administer system services, daemons, cron jobs, startup processes (systemd), PAM, sudoers, and access controls.
• Support enterprise storage management (LVM, NFS, iSCSI, multipathing) and networking (firewalld, SELinux, routing, DNS).
• Write and maintain automation s using Bash, Python, or Ansible.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Total Experience: 7+ years of experience in Linux System Administration or Platform Engineering.
• OpenShift Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x).
• OS Mastery: Strong proficiency in RHEL 7/8/9 administration and deep-level troubleshooting.
• Architecture Knowledge: Solid understanding of KubeVirt architecture, KVM, and VMware virtualization frameworks.
• Storage & Network: Knowledge of enterprise storage setups and network routing/security standards.
• Automation: Practical experience in automation ing using Ansible, Bash, or Python.
