Job summary

QUESS SELECTION & SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a senior Java professional to translate business requirements into scalable backend solutions and lead delivery across projects.

You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications, working with Spring, REST, and microservices while collaborating with analysts, UI/UX, QA, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC. A minimum of 6 years' hands-on Java experience and strong problem-solving are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications.
• Strong expertise in Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE).
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business and functional requirements and translate them into scalable application designs and technical solutions.
• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain responsive web applications using ReactJS and modern front-end technologies.
• Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Perform impact analysis, effort estimation, and technical assessments for new features and application enhancements.
• Develop and execute unit tests and support integration testing, system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and production support activities.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects, production issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure applications comply with organizational security standards and secure coding practices.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Technical Leads, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and project stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application quality and performance.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
