Job summary

LIAN BENG ENGINEERING & MACHINERY PTE LTD in Singapore seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the full commercial and QS aspects of metalworks and structural steel projects. You will prepare estimates, BOQs, budgets and tender submissions, and review drawings and contracts for commercial risk.

You will handle variations, progress payments, final accounts, subcontractor quotes, cost reporting and procurement support.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant quantity surveying experience in construction/steel/metalworks.
• Strong knowledge of measurement, costing, tendering, contract administration and variation claims.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction practices and contracts.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and QS software.

Responsibilities

• Manage full quantity surveying and commercial aspects of metalworks and structural steel projects.
• Prepare and review cost estimates, BOQs, budgets and tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications and contracts to identify commercial risks.
• Manage variations, claims, progress payments, valuations and final accounts.
• Prepare and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Monitor project costs and ensure budgets are adhered to.
• Take-off quantities and measurements for structural steel and metalworks packages.
• Certify subcontractor progress claims and negotiate with stakeholders.
• Provide commercial advice to project and management teams.
• Maintain proper documentation for all commercial matters.
• Prepare regular cost reports and commercial updates.
