Job summary

ACHIEVE CAREER CONSULTANT PTE LTD is recruiting on behalf of an established A1 Main Contractor in Singapore for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team. You will handle cost control, tendering, contracts, and commercial management across large building and infrastructure projects.

Based in the West, you will liaise with clients and subcontractors, prepare cost reports, monitor budgets, and drive commercial risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Experience in building/construction, civil or infrastructure projects.
• Strong measurement, tendering, contract administration, cost-control knowledge.
• Experience with variation orders, progress claims and final accounts.
• Good understanding of Singapore construction contracts and commercial practices.
• Strong negotiation, analytics, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle pre- and post-contract quantity surveying and commercial management.
• Prepare and review tender docs, BOQs, cost estimates and tender evaluations.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage subcontract administration, progress claims, variations, payments and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
• Review variation orders, EOT, loss & expense and contractual claims.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates for management.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on contracts.
• Identify commercial risks and support mitigation strategies.
• Ensure documentation and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Support PM and commercial team in achieving objectives.

Our client is an established A1 Main Contractor with a strong track record in delivering major building and infrastructure projects in Singapore. Due to continued project growth, they are looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors to join their commercial team.

Responsibilities

• Handle pre- and post-contract quantity surveying and commercial management activities.
• Prepare and review tender documents, bills of quantities, cost estimates and tender evaluations .
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage subcontract administration, progress claims, variations, payments and final accounts .
• Monitor project costs, budgets and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and assess variation orders, extension of time, loss & expense and contractual claims .
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates for project management.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on contractual and commercial matters.
• Identify commercial risks and support appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Support the Project Manager and commercial team in achieving project cost and contractual objectives.

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management or a related discipline .
• Relevant experience in building construction, civil or infrastructure projects .
• Strong knowledge of measurement, tendering, contract administration, cost control and subcontract management .
• Experience with variation orders, progress claims, final accounts and contractual claims .
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial practices in Singapore.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
