Job summary

Chung Tai Construction Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor in Singapore to lead cost control and tender activities for steel structure projects. You will manage take-offs, BOQ, and tender documents while negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.

You will also advise on cost implications of design changes, supervise interim payments, and mentor junior staff, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 3–6 years of QS experience, with steel structure exposure.
• Understanding of international/local codes (Eurocode, BS, SS, GB).

Responsibilities

• Lead tender preparation, quotations, and progress claims for accuracy.
• Oversee take-off measurements, BOQ, and tender docs for steel works.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for cost efficiency.
• Advise on cost impacts of design changes and variations.
• Supervise interim payments, claims, and project documentation.
• Mentor junior QS staff and ensure knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with engineers and contractors to align costing with specs.
• Monitor steel market trends and update budgets accordingly.
• Handle contractual matters including claims, disputes, and final accounts.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and policies.
