Job summary

Singapore Sailing Port is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support commercial and contractual management of construction projects in Singapore. You will prepare bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documentation, and manage progress claims and variations.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field, have at least 3 years of QS experience, and are proficient in Excel.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Min 3 years of quantity surveying experience in construction.
• Experience with Singapore construction projects preferred.
• Proficient in Excel; experience with quantity take-off software is a plus.
• Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage for coordination.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities, cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, prepare cost comparisons, and assist with procurement and subcontract preparation.
• Prepare and submit monthly progress claims, and assess subcontractors' progress claims and payment applications.
• Identify, evaluate and prepare variation claims, including supporting measurements, cost breakdowns and relevant records.
• Monitor project costs, track budget variances and prepare cost reports and forecasts.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project teams on valuations, variations and contractual matters.
• Assist in the preparation and settlement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors.

• Experience with Singapore construction projects is preferred.
• Sound knowledge of quantity measurement, procurement, contract administration, progress claims and variation assessment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with quantity take-off software would be an advantage.
• Good analytical, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage to facilitate work-related communication with Mandarin-speaking project team members and subcontractors.
